We are thrilled to share that Maddy Hoffmann has successfully defended her Master’s thesis in the TIME group at the Colorado School of Mines!

Maddy’s research tackles a critical challenge in materials science: understanding the complex nature of power electronic interfaces. During her time in the group, she developed a novel approach to describing heterointerfaces using statistical methods. Rather than relying on isolated, localized measurements, her statistical framework provides a much more robust and comprehensive picture of interfacial behavior across scales.

This new perspective offers a more accurate way to map and predict how these boundaries function, which is a vital step forward for advancing the design and reliability of next-generation power electronics.

We are incredibly proud of the rigorous methodology and fresh perspective she brought to this project. Congratulations, Maddy, on this well-deserved milestone!
