Announcing the 2025 Microscopy Hackathon - Colorado Partner Site
The TIME Group at Mines is excited to serve as a partner for the 2025 Microscopy Hackathon, led by the Kalinin Group at UTK.
I'm excited to announce that my group is partnering with Dr. Sergei Kalinin's team at the University of Tennessee Knoxville to host a partner site for the 2025 Microscopy Hackathon. This hybrid event will run from December 16-18, and we will be hosting an in-person gathering at the Colorado School of Mines. Having participated in the fantastic 2024 event, I am thrilled to help bring this unique opportunity to our local community.
The hackathon is a hands-on event that brings together researchers and students to tackle challenges at the intersection of machine learning and microscopy. Participants collaborate on projects focused on autonomous experimentation and AI-driven data analysis, developing open-source tools that can significantly accelerate materials discovery. It’s an excellent chance to see how the field is evolving and to contribute directly to the future of scientific research.
We strongly encourage students and early-career researchers in the Denver Metro area to join us at the Mines site. This is an excellent opportunity for in-person collaboration, networking with peers and professionals in the region, and gaining practical skills in a dynamic and rapidly growing field. You'll get a firsthand look at how autonomous science is being advanced right here in our community.
